Frugal Friday: Cutting Portion Sizes


I have noticed that since my husband and I have been on a diet and I have been cutting our portions we usually make a meal last a couple of days. That not only saves on cooking, but definetly on our grocery bill. So even if you are not dieting, cutting your portions will definetly help!

  1. When I was on WW, I was shocked at what an actual portion size of spaghetti was!

    I think it was a cup?

    So of course, I jammed as much spaghetti as I could into that cup. Which probably defeated the purpose.

  3. thanks for the tip -- we've been trying to really pay attention to what we cook and how we can stretch those items. It helps me stick with my plan to take my lunch to work each day rather than eating out.

  5. It really is amazing how much difference there can be between how much you should eat and how much people DO often eat! I have to occasionally measure everything just to avoid that portion inflation!
